The National Society of Hispanic MBAs Launches Program Directed to Unemployed Hispanic Business Professionals

The organization shows its commitment to the Hispanic business community

IRVING, Texas, May 18 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The National Society of Hispanic MBAs (NSHMBA) has launched PRO-SEED, a new initiative to provide support for education and employment for Hispanic professionals who might be affected by the current economic climate and its widespread corporate downsizing and job loss. The new program is being rolled out in preparation for the organization's 2009 Conference & Career Expo: Think Ahead, Move Forward in Minneapolis, MN, Oct. 8-10 this year.

"In difficult economic times, people need support and tools that give them the opportunity to develop relationships with peers, employers and resources to enhance their competitive advantage. NSHMBA offers that opportunity for talented Hispanics," said NSHMBA's CEO, Lourdes Hassler.

The selected applicants of PRO-SEED who meet the eligibility requirements will receive complimentary registration to the NSHMBA Conference's Career Expo, and will participate in pre-conference webinars to review job search strategies, learn career hunting and networking tactics, create resumes and career documents that generate results, and master interview skills. In addition, participants will have access to discounted airfare and hotel rates, a complimentary 12-month NSHMBA professional membership, and the opportunity to preschedule interviews with select sponsors during the 2009 NSHMBA Conference's Career Expo.

Like many of the NSHMBA's endeavors, PRO-SEED is an opportunity to bring the change necessary to elevate lives and livelihoods, and make the Hispanic community exceptional -- personally, socially and most importantly, professionally. The program will remain open until September of this year to Hispanic business professionals with at least 7 years of experience who are currently unemployed. The organization expects to connect a great number of Hispanic business professionals with companies looking for talent.
