NSHMBA NY / JANY's "JA Company Program"

What:
NSHMBA NY is excited to partner with Junior Achievement of New York (JANY)’s Hispanic Initiative to offer members the opportunity to deliver the “JA Company Program” to 5 high school classrooms located in the Bronx and Manhattan.

The “JA Company Program” provides high school students the opportunity to learn about business, entrepreneurship, and economics by establishing and running a viable business through all its stages, which includes creation, financing, and production through liquidation. NSHMBA volunteers will help students through this process by leading 6 sessions using JANY’s established curriculum. Sessions will be held between March and June.

Volunteers interested must attend one of the following
information/training sessions:

Tuesday, March 3
Time: 6:30 – 8:00pm

Thursday, March 5
Time: 6:30 – 8:00pm

Additional training sessions may be provided depending on volunteer availability. After training, a JANY representative will coordinate with volunteers to match them with a school and teacher. JANY will also provide all necessary materials and lesson guides.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION
To learn more and sign up, please contact Lucia Marquez at lvmclaros@gmail.com or Julio Cotto at jcotto@jany.org by February 20th, 2009.
